Fikri commenced his legal practice in Indonesia in 1992, and in 1994 graduated from Cornell Law School (Ithaca, New York), having earlier attended the University of Indonesia. With his extensive knowledge, incisive insights and practical hands-on approach, he is widely recognised as a leading lawyer in the banking and finance, M&A, corporate/debt restructuring, project finance and capital market arenas.

Assegaf Hamzah & Partners acts for domestic and international companies, as well as high-net-worth individuals, on both contentious and non-contentious tax matters, with demonstrable experience representing clients in appeals to the Tax Court and judicial review submissions to the Supreme Court. Ahmad Fikri Assegaf and Nazly Parlindungan Siregar are key practitioners, while former practice head Muslimin Damanhuri left for an in-house role at Deloitte Touche Solutions in March 2022.

Practice head Putu Suryastuti has over 20 years’ experience of IPOs, secondary offerings and private placements, with a focus on the financial services, telecoms, aviation and manufacturing sectors. Managing partner Bono Daru Adji is also active in the team alongside co-founder Ahmad Fikri Assegaf, who has 25 years’ experience in capital markets transactions. Mohammad Renaldi Zulkarnain is experienced in commercial and securities regulation, and senior associate Astrid Widyakartika left in July 2021 for an in-house role at the Indonesia Investment Authority.
