Recently, he was involved in a pollution case representing a port owned and operated company. Cem also represents a shipowner company in a lawsuit in Turkey regarding the compensation of a sunk fishing vessel in Mauritania against the insurers.  Other important cases include representing seamen who were kidnapped and detained by pirates in Nigeria against the shipowners.
