The Cayman office was opened in late 2020 with Robert Jones as the sole attorney. Adam Crane (from HSM Chambers – Cayman) and Nicosia Lawson (Mourant – Cayman) joined the Cayman office in September 2021, bringing a wealth of experience in commercial and trust disputes, insolvency & restructuring, and asset recovery matters.

Building upon the expertise established in our Jersey office, the Cayman dispute resolution team has considerable experience working on labour and employment matters (Robert Jones specifically) and working on high profile insolvency, trust, and commercial disputes, including but not limited to: AHAB v Saad, Platinum Partners liquidation, XiO Fund I LP, Primeo Fund, In the Matter of a Trust known as the O Trust, and China Shanshui Group Limited v Tianrui (International) Holding Company. The multi-disciplinary team also has experience in section 238 fair value proceedings: In the Matter of Qunar Cayman Islands Limited, In the Matter of KongZhong Corporation, and in the Matter of Zhaopin Limited.

The Cayman dispute team has significant experience in the hedge fund, private equity fund and captive insurance sectors. It is also developing its experience and has growth in acting for sovereign governments in asset recovery matters (i.e., 1MDB).
