Position

Pieter van den Berg, partner and lawyer, is head of the M&A practice of BUREN, with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing and insolvency. Both as a lead and co-counsel he has advised clients of different sizes (some of them listed companies) on national and cross-border transactions. In addition, Pieter acts as a trustee in bankruptcies.

Pieter van den Berg is a member of the Dutch Bar Association, the International Bar Association (IBA) and Insolad, the Association of Insolvency Lawyers. Pieter is a board member of several institutions and initiatives, including ACCESS Facility, a global organization supporting effective problemsolving for Company-Community conflicts.

Education

After obtaining a law degree (private law and business law) from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1995 Pieter van den Berg has been working as a lawyer. He completed a specialisation training Insolad/Grotius Insolvency law (2003) as well as Mergers and Acquisitions (formerly Corporate Transactions) (2006).
