Position

As a counsel specializing in data protection and information technology, I assist companies involved in retail and wholesale, financial and consumer product manufacturing and also advise sector clients on regulatory issues. I have been practising law since 2010.

Career

Full GDPR implementation. I have provided legal assistance to companies in diverse sectors on implementing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and provide full scope advice on all matters related to data protection, including data security and management of data breaches.

Regulatory issues. I have considerable experience advising clients on major regulatory matters and assisting in communicating with the authorities and also participate in the legislative process by drafting legal acts or amendments.

Training. The key point in business success is people, so that staff training is vital. I organise and participate in data protection training for businesses and their employees and co-authored an e-learning course on key aspects of the GDPR. A quiz and real life examples included in the e-course are extremely useful to gain an understanding of what the GDPR is all about.

Understanding various business sectors. My practice allows me to gain a thorough understanding of various industries and business processes, such as retail and wholesale, financial and consumer product manufacturing, media and IT services. This knowledge is particularly valuable in crafting individualized solutions for our clients.

Valuable experience in the public sector. Prior to joining Sorainen I was the head of legal at the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications and was responsible for EU Aid coordination as well as managing various EU-funded projects. I was also a member of the board at state-owned company Lietuvos paštas (the national postal & courier services provider). The synergy of my experience as a lawyer in both private and public sectors allows me to offer optimal solutions for clients.
