Career

At SÉRVULO since 2008, Pedro Fernández Sánchez is a partner in the Public Law department. He is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He obtained his PhD from the same Faculty, in 2015, with a thesis on the theme of “Law and Sentence: The Separation of Legislative and Judicial Powers in Portuguese Constitutionalism”. He is also a Member of the Board of the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a Senior Researcher Fellow at the Lisbon Centre for Research in Public Law. He has been a guest lecturer on graduate courses of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, since 2009; and guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal, since 2008. He is a guest tutor at the Centre for Judicial Studies (CEJ – Centro de Estudos Judiciários), at the National Institute of Administration (INA – Instituto Nacional de Administração), and at the Institute of Management and Public Administration (IGAP – Instituto de Gestão e Administração Pública). He is certified by the Academy of European Public Law (2007). He is a speaker at conferences and seminars organised by universities and other public and private institutions on themes related to the areas of Constitutional Law and of Administrative Law. He has also authored books and articles on these areas. He joined the Bar Association in 2008. Founder and first Director of the Revista de Direito Administrativo (Journal of Administrative Law).
