Thamer is a Partner and Head of Corporate Commercial team at SASLO.

Thamer is an experienced Omani lawyer specialising in banking & finance, corporate finance, capital markets, corporate structures, M&A and setting up of various types of companies. Thamer holds an LLB from Sharjah University and an LLM in International Corporate Finance from the University of Reading, UK.

He is experienced in legal drafting in both English and Arabic particularly in the fields of banking, project finance, infrastructure and public-private-partnerships, capital markets, Company/Commercial, M&A, IPP & IWPs and Electricity Law. Thamer has been part of teams who have represented a range of international, GCC and Omani clients in a wide range of finance and commercial matters. He has extensive experience in dealing with Ministries and other authorities including the Authority for Electricity Regulator in Oman, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Commerce Industry & Investment Promotion, Ministry of Housing, Capital Market Authority, Muscat Security Market, Muscat Clearing & Depository Co., Ministry of Tourism and Tender Board.

He is also a member of SASLO’s Dispute Resolution team, advising and representing a range of international, Gulf and Omani clients in many aspects of Commercial and Civil Law, Banking Law, Capital Markets Law, Land Law and Customs Law, to name a few, and frequently appears before the Primary Court and the Court of Appeals in Oman, in addition to various arbitral tribunals.
