Career

Dr Ivan Gatt is a Partner at GTG and heads the Litigation department. With over four decades of experience in a variety of legal areas, with particular emphasis on civil litigation, property conveyancing and commercial law, Dr Gatt has been advising companies and board committees on corporate governance, while also having vast experience in facilitating a variety of transactions, including securities offerings, venture capital investments and corporate acquisitions. He is a non-executive company director and company secretary to a number of corporations and assists clients with annual meeting preparation as well as providing advice on numerous regulatory and compliance matters.

Dr Gatt is a graduate in law from the University of Malta and has handled major cases involving debt recovery, industrial and administrative law, sale of goods, transport, insurance and judicial review. He has also presided over the Levy Appeals Board and the Customs and Excise Tax Appeals Board of the Maltese Ministry of Finance.
