Position

Meena Kumari is a director in the family and child care departments at Duncan Lewis Solicitors and has a wealth of experience involving complex children cases with an international element, as well as cases where the children have special needs. Meena has particular expertise in negotiating medium to high-net financial settlements for clients in the course of separation, divorce and dissolution of civil partnership. This is an area of family law requiring a tenacious and proactive approach as well as meticulous attention, qualities Meena possesses in abundance.  

Meena believes in adopting a proactive rather than a reactive approach to family law in each of its different facets and strives to ensure that what is often a very difficult situation for clients is not made more difficult due to inaction or lack of foresight. She has a passion for advocacy and represents the majority of her clients at every court hearing.

Career

Meena began her legal career in Cambridgeshire where she trained and qualified as a solicitor. She joined Duncan Lewis Solicitors in 2016 as a partner-level director.

Languages

Meena is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. She can also converse in French and Creole.

Memberships

Meena is an active member of the Law Society’s Family Panel (Advanced) and in 2015 she joined the Law Society Law Management Section where she shares her management knowledge and skills amongst other members in the profession. She has also trained as a collaborative lawyer and is a member of Resolution.
