Position

Marjolijn is a seasoned employment law specialist and trusted advisor for both domestic and international companies. She advises and litigates with a focus on corporate employment law, employee participation and consultation requirements, boardroom advice, governance and grievance (e.g., whistleblowers/complaints procedures), restructuring and harmonization of employment terms. Marjolijn co-heads the Employment practice group. As member of our TMT-sector team she is regularly involved in transactions in the tech industry.

Career

Marjolijn has studied law at the University of Amsterdam and in Berlin and speaks Dutch, English and German and completed the postgraduate PALA employment programme. She regularly lectures on various HR and employment law topics, such as employee consultation and whistleblowers. She contributed to an e-book about M&A in the TMT-sector. Besides serving on the board of the Rudolf Lehmann Fund, Marjolijn is a aspects member of the Netherlands Olympic Committee’s Spending Policy Appeals Committee and of the Pro Agent Code of Conduct Committee.

Sijbren Kuiper, who was recently promoted to partner, leads the pensions team, advising and representing pension funds, financial market authorities and corporate clients, while  Cara Pronk, another new partner, specialises in both domestic and international labour law. Following the retirement of Els de WindMarjolijn Lips and Steven Sterk lead the practice. Lips focuses on co-determination, investigations, restructurings and M&A, and Sterk specialises in advising on executives and workers’ participation, including works council consultations and negotiations.
