Position

Paul is a partner in Deloitte Legal’s Commercial & Technology practice, and is the global technology law lead for Deloitte Legal.

Career

Paul advises on all areas of technology and sourcing, including IT and business process outsourcings, cloud contracts, digital transformation projects and large-scale systems implementations.  He also advises clients on contractual arrangements at all levels of the supply chain, including manufacturing, collaboration, supply, distribution and agency agreements​.

Paul’s client base includes customers and suppliers in a range of sectors including financial services, consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, technology engineering and professional services. ​

Recent projects include:

  • Advising a FTSE 100 retail company on a major cloud transformation project​
  • Advising a leading global IT and outsourcing supplier on the renegotiation of a large (multi-billion GBP) global IT outsourcing transaction​
  • Advising a government-owned finance institution on the tender process and contract negotiations for an IT infrastructure outsourcing​
  • Advising a FTSE 100 technology engineering company on the global outsourcing of its network services (voice, data, fixed and mobile) and SAP hosting services​
  • Advising a leading global IT and outsourcing supplier on contract for the supply of AI technology for use in its BPO (insurance claims handling) services​

Paul is the author of the outsourcing chapter and precedents for Practical Commercial Precedents, published by Sweet & Maxwell, co-author of the Global Sourcing Association’s best practice guide on exiting outsourcing agreements, and is the former legal representative on the board of the Global Sourcing Association.

Paul trained at Theodore Goddard, qualified in 1998, became a partner at Kemp Little LLP in 2006 and practised at Kemp Little until 2021 when he joined Deloitte Legal.
