Position
Philippe Bärtsch is a partner in Schellenberg Wittmer’s Geneva Office, and a Vice-Chair of the firm’s International Arbitration Practice Group. He is also a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Philippe has extensive experience handling complex international commercial arbitrations. Philippe has successfully represented clients in setting aside proceedings before the Swiss Supreme Court. He also advises clients on the enforcement of awards, on Swiss contract law and on international trade sanctions.
Experience:
- Counsel and arbitrator in more than 100 complex commercial arbitrations seated in common law and civil law jurisdictions worldwide, involving a wide array of matters and under many different laws
- Main areas of specialization include post M&A disputes, energy, construction / engineering, commodities, pharmaceutical, consumer goods and sports
- Counsel in close to 100 different proceedings before sports arbitral institutions and adjudicative bodies of sports federations, including in some of the highest profile sports cases in recent history
