Career

Halvard has extensive trial experience in complex commercial, contractual, and labour matters, criminal cases, and arbitration. He regularly advises businesses and executives on litigation and appeals work, compliance and regulatory matters, and white-collar crime cases.

As a former reporter and foreign editor of a Norwegian national newspaper, Halvard has defended news organizations and publishing houses in landmark media, privacy and libel cases and published the first commentary on the Norwegian Press Ethics Code.

Halvard has tried over 70 criminal and civil cases to verdict in the Supreme Court and is one of Norway’s most experienced Supreme Court litigators.

Recent work highlights for the ‘firstrate’ team at Advokatfirmaet Schjødt AS include successfully representing Rottefella in a high-profile patent infringement suit.
