Position

Kristien Carbonez is resident partner in our London representative office, where she acts as an ambassador for the firm. Having worked with a variety of clients while practising on both sides of the Atlantic, she has a broad grasp of international client needs, and liaises between clients and peer UK, US and other law firms and her specialist Brussels and Kinshasa based colleagues across the full range of Belgian and Congolese/OHADA regulatory, corporate and commercial law issues.  She also coordinates the firm’s various Country Desks and Liedekerke’s international law firm relationships.

Kristien’s background is in Intellectual Property and EU law and regulatory issues.  Her IP experience has covered all forms of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and confidentiality, copyright and designs. She has practised in Brussels, Washington DC, and London, and is a member of the New York and Brussels Bars, and a registered European lawyer with the Law Society of England and Wales.
