Career

Isaque is a partner in the Tax practice. He has over 15 years’ professional experience focusing on tax advice and project management in Portugal and in Africa. He has acted for both Portuguese and foreign private clients, and clients from the public sector.

Isaque has actively participated in M&A transactions, structuring of domestic and international investments, tax due diligence, and tax litigation.

He has a law degree from the University of Lisbon and completed postgraduate courses in commercial law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa and in international taxation of companies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He also attended the master’s in tax law and the professional master’s in financial law, both at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Isaque is an arbitrator at the CAAD – Administrative Arbitration Centre and works with the Institute of Financial and Tax Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Before joining PLMJ, Isaque was a Tax and Legal Specialist at McKinsey International, an assistant to the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs of the Ministry of Finance of the 19th Constitutional Government, and a consultant at E&Y and KPMG.

In 2020, Isaque won the prestigious “Forty under 40 – Lawyer of the Year” award, in the category of Tax. This award is given by the magazine Iberian Lawyer.
