Isaque is a partner in the Tax practice. He has over 15 years’ professional experience focusing on tax advice and project management in Portugal and in Africa. He has acted for both Portuguese and foreign private clients, and clients from the public sector.
Isaque has actively participated in M&A transactions, structuring of domestic and international investments, tax due diligence, and tax litigation.
He has a law degree from the University of Lisbon and completed postgraduate courses in commercial law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa and in international taxation of companies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He also attended the master’s in tax law and the professional master’s in financial law, both at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
Isaque is an arbitrator at the CAAD – Administrative Arbitration Centre and works with the Institute of Financial and Tax Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
Before joining PLMJ, Isaque was a Tax and Legal Specialist at McKinsey International, an assistant to the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs of the Ministry of Finance of the 19th Constitutional Government, and a consultant at E&Y and KPMG.

Based across the firm’s Lisbon and Oporto offices, the tax team at PLMJ possesses broad domestic and international experience. Transactional advice is a key pillar of the practice, where the team is often engaged on M&A, banking, restructuring and real estate-related matters. Complex and sensitive tax litigation is also a central focus of the team, where it is instructed by domestic and international clients. Serena Cabrita Neto in Lisbon is experienced in high-profile tax disputes and Oporto-based Miguel C Reis is noted for transactional matters. João Velez de Lima, who is also based in Oporto, handles contentious and non-contentious work. Isaque Ramos recently joined from McKinsey & Company.
