LOGOS represents a roster of domestic and foreign clients across various industry sectors in high-end disputes including handling several derivatives claims resulting from financial instrument and claw back cases, as well as set-off claims in insolvency cases. The team is noted for its experience in corporate disputes and investigations brought by the tax and competition authorities, in addition to collaborating with the firm’s London-based office to handle cross-border financial claims. Heidar Asberg Atlason, who focuses on contentious bankruptcy matters, leads the practice and is supported by ‘outstanding’ competition specialist Helga Ottarsdottir and Olafur Eiriksson.

LOGOS’ caseload includes complex employment disputes including claims relating to contract terminations, unions, discrimination and unfair dismissals, as well as non-contentious matters pertaining to employment contracts, business reorganisations and work permits. The team is particularly active in employment litigation and represented Deloitte in several unfair dismissal and compensation cases, in addition to acting for Verne Global in a dispute with the Union of Electrical Workers concerning collateral agreements. Olafur Eiriksson, who is a key contact for employee work and union disputes, leads the practice group and is supported by Einar Baldvin Axelsson.

LOGOS‘ ‘substantial practice’ is noted for its capabilities in financial restructurings, in addition to matters pertaining to payment suspensions, bankruptcy proceedings and the implementation of voluntary and compulsory arrangements with creditors. Key clients include international banks, financial institutions, municipalities and airlines, including Icelandair Group; the team advised the latter and its subsidiaries on a €201.5m financial restructuring.
