Career

Maria Cecilia focuses her practice primarily on M&A, corporate restructurings and corporate and contractual law, in general. She often represents Brazilian and foreign clients – buyers, sellers and target companies – in a variety of Brazilian and cross-border corporate transactions, including the preparation of prospective targets, stock sales and purchases, asset sales and purchases, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and corporate governance advice.

Maria Cecilia also assists clients in regulatory matters and issues involving public law in Brazil, especially in the telecommunications sector, advising Brazilian and foreign clients in developing and implementing their businesses in Brazil, obtaining the relevant licenses and permits, negotiating and executing related contracts, as well as assistance in public biddings and administrative procedures in general.

In 2019, after concluding the LL.M., Maria Cecilia acted as international legal counsel for a multinational company of the healthcare sector in Paris, France, where she coordinated several M&A transactions in Latin America and Europe, including the UK, Portugal and Spain.

Maria Cecilia holds an LL.M. degree, with distinction, in Corporate & Commercial Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (2018) and specialization in Corporate Law and Capital Market from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (2014).
