Career

As Milan-based partner at Bird & Bird, he is head of Employment team in Italy. He offers over 30 years’ expertise in a wide range of employment issues.

He advises leading international companies on all HR management issues, from hiring and disciplinary procedures through to compensation. This includes the implementation of stock options plans, as well as individual and collective dismissals and litigation and arbitration advice. He has developed a deep knowledge of whistleblowing rules and practices and he also manage internal investigations.

In addition, he provides assistance on trade union negotiations and industrial relations in connection with matters including transfers of undertakings, collective redundancies and European works councils, as well as trade union and social insurance litigation and arbitration. He also works alongside the Italian corporate department in M&A deals, advising clients on all employment related issues connected with such deals (including the due diligence investigation phase).

He regularly gives lessons at the Specialisation School of the Italian Lawyer Employment Association and he is speaker at Employment Law conferences. He has also written several publications on employment law including the Italian section of ‘Employment Law and The European Union‘ (Croner, 1999) and he is co-author of a commentary on the Employment Proceedings Code (Ipsoa, 2001).
