We sent The Legal 500 Future Lawyers Pupil and Junior Barrister survey to pupils and juniors up to two years in tenancy at Goldsmith Chambers. Here is what they had to say:

Why did you choose these chambers over any others?

‘The atmosphere, supportiveness, level of support for pupils, quality and variety of work, exemplary training’, ‘I knew people who were tenants there who had a good experience; it has a good reputation for being supportive and friendly’

How does your training compare with what you hear from pupils/juniors at other chambers?

‘Much more support from clerks and senior members of chambers, much better management of my workload so I am not overworked, much more tailored training’,  ‘I would have liked to receive more focused training sessions’

Best thing about chambers?

‘The people; so much support, camaraderie and understanding’, ‘the supportive atmosphere’

Worst thing about chambers?

‘Nothing about chambers- but the work/life balance at the Bar is non-existent’

Best moment to date?

‘My first week of second six – felt so supported by everyone, and made it a genuinely enjoyable experience’

Worst moment to date?

‘My client getting a custodial sentence when he thought he was getting a community order- and then subsequently having a panic attack in court’

CSR/Pro bono?

‘Excellent! There has been a great deal of support and encouragement to get involved with pro bono if I feel that I can/have time to do so’
