Survey Results - Trainee feedback on 2 Hare Court

The lowdown - Pupils (in their own words) on 2 Hare Court

We sent The Legal 500 Future Lawyers Pupil and Junior Barrister survey to pupils and juniors up to two years in tenancy at 2 Hare Court. Here is what they had to say:

Why did you choose these chambers over any others?

‘It was my dream set. I really wanted to do crime and it is a The Legal 500 Tier 1 criminal set. I also knew I would get an exposure to other areas such as regulatory, inquests, fraud and tax’

How does your training compare with what you hear from pupils/juniors at other chambers?

‘My advocacy training is really good, better than what a lot of other sets are offering’

Best thing about chambers?

‘The high quality of work I am exposed to, even earlier on in my career.

Worst thing about chambers?

‘A very high standard of written work which isn’t really taught. You can only learn by doing it and unfortunately I’ve done some subpar pieces’

Best moment so far?

‘Winning my first Magistrates Court trial’

Worst moment so far?

‘Receiving terrible feedback on an advocacy session in front of all of chambers’
