Position

Jonathan advises on the major UK taxes and acts in tax appeals and tax related litigation before the specialist tribunals and the higher courts.  He has substantial experience of complex and high value litigation (acting both alone and as part of a team). His advisory practice has an emphasis on business and entrepreneurial tax issues.  Recent cases have included: RFC 2012 plc v HMRC (SC); Airtours v HMRC (SC), FII Group Litigation (CA), Prudential v HMRC (CA), Six Continents v HMRC (Ch), Farnborough Airport v HMRC (UT), Bradfield College v HMRC (UT), MG Rover v HMRC (UT), HMRC v Invicta Foods (UT), HMRC v Newey (UT), Smith & Nephew v HMRC (FTT).
