Position
Specialist in complex high value discrimination claims involving multiple causes of action including whistleblowing. He has specialist knowledge of National Health Service employment issues and regularly appears in employment cases concerning senior consultants. He also has specialist knowledge of trade union and labour law including advising on industrial relations and trade union recognition. He is experienced in appearing before the Central Arbitration Committee. Recent Cases include the whistleblowing case of Dr K Beatt v. Croydon Health Services NHS Trust [2017] EWCA 401; the sex discrimination case of the Commissioner of the Police of the Metropolis v. Mr Adrian Denby UKEAT/0314/16/RN; the age discrimination case of Elliott v Ford UKEAT/0327/14/MC and the race discrimination case of Paulene George v Croydon Trust UKEATPA/0227/15/JOJ.
Career
Prior to being called to the Bar in October 1991, had been employed by a major trade union as a research and press officer and negotiator.
