Career

Dr. Ka Li CHEUNG is a specialist practitioner in cross-border litigations and regulatory enforcement investigations. He is qualified to practice law in both civil law and common law jurisdictions. In addition, he is a member of the Copyright Tribunal. He was previously a member of the Market Misconduct Tribunal, and the Board of Review (Inland Revenue Ordinance).

Gary has a truly International practice, being authorised to practice in Australia, China, Hong Kong and New Zealand and being called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2022. Gary has vast commercial experience including:

• Securities fraud and mis-selling of investment products;
• Asset tracing in connection with securities fraud and deception;
• Regulatory enforcement investigations in relation to financial market misconduct;
• Contentious and non-contentious probate matters relating to Hong Kong citizens passed away in China;
• Shareholder dispute litigations;
• Misappropriation of corporate asset and application of restrictive covenant;and
• Assisting clients setting up Hong Kong open-ended fund companies and limited partnership funds
