The insolvency department of 'very capable Dorking-based firm' Downs Solicitors LLP 'comprehends the issues and cuts to the point'. Team lead Chris Millar 'knows how to maximise realisations and keeps matters focused', handling contentious corporate and personal insolvency matters. Commercial litigator Martin Steer in Goldaming and non-contentious corporate restructuring and insolvency consultant Nigel Cook are the other key practitioners. In a recent highlight, Millar represented a client in administration against a statutory demand from a beneficiary of his personal guarantee, while Steer acted for the joint liquidators of a wound-up pharmacy regarding the recovery of funds which had been removed from the company's account by the director. Cook is assisting the former director of a company in administration during an investigation into his conduct launched by the Insolvency Service.
