Position

Holly specialises in commercial law and insolvency and undertakes advisory work, drafting and litigation in all areas of commercial practice including contract, bailment, sale and supply of goods, corporate disputes (unfair prejudice petitions and derivative actions), insurance, restraint of trade, breach of confidence, consumer credit, credit hire, banking and finance and passing off (including the emerging tort of reverse passing off). She has substantial experience in the County Courts, including interlocutory hearings, injunctions, fast track and multi-track trials and appeals. Holly has a particular interest in the professional indemnity/negligence field after completing a secondment to the insurance and re-insurance group at CMS Cameron McKenna Solicitors during her pupillage, and this forms a substantial part of her commercial practice. She undertakes both claimant and defendant work in all areas, including claims against accountants, financial advisors, insurance brokers, construction professionals (architects, surveyors and valuers), solicitors, barristers and IT professionals. Her recent work includes advising, drafting pleadings and attending a mediation on behalf of the claimant in a solicitor’s negligence case valued in excess of £1m , which was successfully settled.

Career

Called 2008, Lincoln’s Inn (Denning Scholar, Hardwicke entrance award). Upon completing a twelve-month pupillage at Guildhall Chambers under the supervision of Hugh Sims and Nicholas Briggs, Holly became a tenant in 2009; currently a guest lecturer at the University of the West of England, teaching legal aspects of information management for the Msc in Information Technology.
