Stephen Woodall has been a partner at FDR Law for more than 25 years and is Head of the Commercial Department.

Stephen has specialised over the last 20 years in relation to commercial real estate with particular emphasis on regeneration and large-scale disposals. In the last 10 years Stephen has worked for a variety of local authorities in the North West including Government agencies in addition to his work for private-sector developers.

Stephen has been involved in leading several major regeneration projects for the public-sector in the North West including the redevelopment of Skelmersdale Town Centre, the transformation of North Huyton in Merseyside and the redevelopment of Hattersley in Greater Manchester.

He regularly works on behalf of substantial landowners in respect of the disposal of land for residential development. Whilst this work often involves the disposal of greenfield sites he has also dealt with the disposal of substantial former NHS assets.

Previous interesting instructions include the provision of funding for the acquisition of Blackpool Tower and the Winter Gardens and the disposal for a pension fund of the original Curzon Cinema in Mayfair, London.

The ‘excellent’ team at FDR Law acts for commercial and residential developers, retail and leisure operators, corporate occupiers and investors, and is also regularly instructed by public sector clients and is experienced in education sector matters. It advised Network Space on the £41.2m sale of a property portfolio, which included 18 industrial sites across the North of England, to Threadneedle Pensions. Langtree Property Partners and Daresbury SIC are also clients. Stephen Woodall heads the team, which features the ‘brilliant’ Kirsty Tinsley-Fenney and John King.
