Position
Dayo is a Partner and Head of the Finance & Projects practice at the firm. He leads the Finance and Projects practice with particular focus on energy and infrastructure. His background lies in corporate / project finance and mergers and acquisitions, with experience covering the energy, aviation and banking sectors. He has over 20 years’ experience in the finance and M&A sector.
Dayo has carved a niche and created an industry reputation as the go-to contact for natural resources and energy projects and transactions as well as the financial services sector. His vast experience has seen him advise multiple Sponsors, Investors, Lenders (including DFIs, PE firms and others) on cross-jurisdictional transactions focused on energy and infrastructure projects in Nigeria. In addition, he regularly advises on mergers and acquisition transactions in the energy, infrastructure and financial services sectors

- Advised Shell on its acquisition of Daystar Power Group, a solar power solutions provider serving commercial and industrial businesses in West Africa.
- Advised on the 700 MW Zungeru Hydro Electric Plant concession;
- Advised Quest Electricity Nigeria Limited in respect of its acquisition of 60% shareholding in Yola Electricity Distribution Company.
- Advised Mainstream Energy (Kainji and Jebba Hydro Power) 1,333.8 MW project company.
- Advised on the USD461 million Oando-Vitol/Helios downstream joint venture.
- Advised Oando Energy Resources on a USD450 million RBL for upstream oil & gas acquisition.
- Advised Oando Energy Resources on a USD350 million corporate facility for acquisition of oil & gas assets.
- Advised on the $3 Billion Egina FPSO EPCI Project by Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria, the EPC contractor to Total Upstream Nigeria in respect of the Egina FPSO project .
- Advised SHI-MCI FZE Financing and Development of a US$270 Million development of a Fabrication & Integration Facility in Lagos, Nigeria
- Advised on US$1.79 billion acquisition of the Nigerian assets of ConocoPhillips by Oando Energy Resources Inc
- Advised on $170 million financing of the development and construction of Office/Commercial development in Lagos
- Advised on the NGN60 Billion (US$400 million) Syndicated Medium Term Financing for an Oil and Gas company
- Advised on the Sale/divestment of 124 km natural gas pipeline – US$250 million.
- Advised Finnfund and Norfund (DFIs) in respect of cross-border $20 million financing of solar panel/off-grid power solutions to Starsight
- Advised on a $2 billion Pipeline construction financing
- Advised on various structured finance transactions (including forward sale structures) with value over $5 billion.
