Based in Dentons’ Calgary office, Jonathan Ryder is a partner in the Commercial Real Estate and Development Department, where he has extensive experience in residential and industrial development, land use and planning, leasing, as well as commercial, industrial and office transactions. Jonathan joined the Firm in 2016 after having spent five years working with one of Alberta’s largest real estate developers, as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for their Canadian operations. In this role, Jonathan advised various business groups on operational and legal matters, ranging from investor communications to sophisticated contract negotiations, and managed real estate transactions in excess of CA$500 million. Jonathan acts as strategic advisor to several family offices in Alberta, providing advice on matters including: acquisitions, joint venture and partnership structures, planning and leasing. His broad depth of business experience ensures a practical approach to real estate matters.
