Position
Zahra Rose Khawaja is an associate in the Dispute Resolution team, based in Dentons’ Dubai office. She is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
Zahra’s focus is on international arbitration and commercial dispute resolution. She has a particular focus on complex disputes with a cross-border element, and advises clients in multiple jurisdictions across a wide range of industry sectors including telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, technology and oil and gas.
She conducts litigation in the DIFC Courts and acts alongside local counsel in the UAE to administer and advise clients in respect of proceedings in the Dubai Courts. International arbitration is a major part of Zahra’s practice and she has experience in conducting proceedings under the rules of the DIFC-LCIA, ICC and LCIA arbitration centres. Zahra also handles mediation processes for clients seeking alternative dispute resolution methods.
Prior to joining Dentons, Zahra trained and practiced at an international law firm in London, where she focused on international arbitration and conducted litigation in the High Court in London. During her training contract, she spent six months on a client secondment in Hong Kong.
Zahra also acted as Assistant Editor for the MENA Region at Kluwer Arbitration Blog between August 2018 and September 2020.
