Career

José María García Santos is a partner in Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Spain.

Prior to joining Dentons, he worked at a Spanish law firm; before that, he held various positions as state attorney, including at the High Court of Justice of Catalonia, the High Court of Justice of Extremadura, and most recently as head of the legal service of the State Tax Agency in Extremadura.

José María is an experienced commercial litigator with extensive experience in tort and contract liability as a consequence of the nature of the products sold and defects in them as well as in proceedings related to economic crime. He usually advises multinational companies in the private sector.

José María has taught classes on Administrative and Commercial Law at the Universidad Católica de Ávila, Administrative and Mercantile Law at the Universidad de Extremadura, and Administrative Law at the Centro Universitario Villanueva de Madrid.
