Position

Petr Kotáb is a honorary member in Dentons’ Prague office. He focuses on financial and tax law, securities and financial markets, banking, foreign investments, corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions.

Petr is also active in the academic field, as a member of the Department of Financial Law of the Charles University School of Law in Prague and a lecturer at multiple universities (including previously Economic University in Prague, Metropolitan University in Prague and the University of Connecticut and Central-European University) on taxation, banking and financial markets.

He is the author or co-author of more than 100 professional books, university textbooks, articles in periodicals and other publications on tax law and financial law.

Career

Petr was previously a member of expert commissions on privatization at the Ministry of Industry of the Czech Republic, and a member of the Financial Law Commission of the Legislative Council of the Government of the Czech Republic. He served as a Supervisory Board member of Komerční banka, one of the largest banks in the Central and Eastern European region, and as the chairman of the Appellate Committee of the Czech Securities Commission. Currently, he is the chairman of a senate of the Appellate Commission of the Czech National Bank.
