Representative experience: counsel to The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on its acquisition, by way of non-brokered private placement, of Lydian Mining International for over C$11 million (2016); counsel to Minera IRL on its US$240 million financing for of the Ollachea Mine project (2015); counsel to Euromax Resources Ltd on its US$175 million Gold Purchase and Sale Agreement with RGLD Gold AG (2014); counsel to Orion Mine Finance (Master) Fund I LP in connection with Weatherly International PLC’s $9m loan to fund the development of its Tschudi copper mine in Namibia (2013); counsel to Amara Mining plc on its $20m gold prepayment agreement with Samsung C&T Corporation (2012); counsel to Eastern Platinum on its $100m senior term loan and facilities agreement with The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and UniCredit Bank AG (2011).

Starting January 1st, 2013, a new tax law (Law No. 822, Tax Concertation Law) came into force in and completely changed the taxation system in Nicaragua. Two years later a new law was issued by the National Assembly containing more than 80 amendments, additions and repeals (Law No 891) which came into force December 18th, 2014.
