Work Department

Louise is an Associate in our corporate claims team based in Ipswich. She qualified in 2003 and since then has specialised in Defendant personal injury litigation for a number of major insurers, claims handlers and insured companies.

Louise handles a wide range of personal injury and non personal injury claims, including public liability, occupiers’ liability, employer’s liability and some disease / occupational health cases.

She has dealt with a number of complex and often high value cases including Animals Act matters, road traffic accidents, Occupiers Liability claims pursuant to both the 1957 and 1984 Acts, claims involving multi-party and contractual / sub-contractor issues, as well as claims involving Highways Authorities and Utilities providers working on the highways and on private property.

Her experience includes:

  • Animals Act 1971 claims – two of Louise’s cases have recently been to the Court of Appeal, and in both instances, were successfully defended.
  • Damage to property and trespass, representing a home owner whose own building works has encroached onto his neighbours property.
  • Successfully reducing the quantum on an EL claim by obtaining DVD surveillance on the Claimant.  A claim pleaded at £266,000.  Settled for £12,500.00.
  • Successfully defending a claim against a Utilities provider as a result of a personal injury claim brought by a member of the public who had allegedly been injured when he fell into a works area for which the Utilities provider was responsible.
