Work Department

Richard is a Senior Associate in our Shipping and International Trade Team and works on both contentious and non contentious matters.
 
The non contentious side of his work includes ship sale and purchase and related ship finance, recently advising on the operation and sale of a 60 metre superyacht.  He has a particular interest in marine issues arising from the construction of off-shore wind farms and his work includes advising on the charter and purchase of vessels engaged in the construction of wind farms.  Richard has also worked on port development project work and regularly advises on commercial contracts relating to ships, international transport and trade.

Richard also works on contentious matters including shipbuilding and sale and purchase disputes.  Acting for both Owners and Charterers, Richard advises on carriage of goods by sea, bill of lading, charterparty, jurisdiction and general average claims and has a wide experience in maritime arbitration and Court work.
 
Richard has lectured on the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Course.
