Simon Dodds is Of Counsel in the Financial Institutions Advisory & Financial Regulatory practice in Shearman & Sterling’s London office.
Simon was formerly Co-General Counsel at Deutsche Bank AG. Simon joined Deutsche Bank in 1999 as General Counsel U.K. based in London, when Deutsche Bank acquired Bankers Trust Company, at which he had been Managing Director in the legal department. In 2001 he became General Counsel for the U.K. and Western Europe. Between 2010 and 2013, Simon was Global Head of Compliance at Deutsche Bank. In January 2013 he became Co-Deputy General Counsel. In January 2016 he became Co-General Counsel. Prior to joining Bankers Trust, Simon was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York and London.
Simon’s broad experience includes advising the board and senior management on legal and regulatory matters across corporate and investment banking, global markets, asset and wealth management. Simon has also advised on major litigation and regulatory enforcement matters, as well as all types of legal and regulatory matters relating to transactions, sales and trading, bank lending and outsourcing.
