Mr. Greetis is a partner in the firm’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Department. He has a broad-based, comprehensive practice which involves all areas of employee benefits law. Mr. Greetis advises both single employers and multiemployer plans.
Executive Compensation. Mr. Greetis counsels both businesses and executives in all aspects of executive compensation. He has substantial experience advising on executive employment and separation matters and has personally negotiated employment and pay arrangements for many organizations and executives. Mr. Greetis also regularly advises organizations on the legal aspects of incentive pay, option plans, restricted stock arrangements, nonqualified deferred compensation plans and agreements, supplemental executive retirement plans, and other forms of equity and executive pay.
Qualified Retirement Plans. Mr. Greetis has considerable experience advising organizations on the legal issues that arise in establishing, sponsoring, and maintaining qualified retirement plans. Mr. Greetis has counseled employers on most aspects of ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance and through Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service audits and plan correction programs. Mr. Greetis has advised several employers involved in contracting with and transitioning between third party service providers.
Health and Welfare Plans. Mr. Greetis regularly advises employers on legal issues that arise with health and welfare plans, including COBRA liability and HIPAA requirements, reductions in force, severance pay arrangements, and various group health plan cost containment mechanisms including disease management programs, health savings accounts, and health and wellness incentives.
Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Greetis routinely works with business transaction lawyers from both inside and outside the firm in identifying and resolving employee benefits legal issues that arise in all forms of business transactions. Mr. Greetis’ work involves both pre-transaction due diligence and transaction agreement review and drafting as well as post-transaction benefit integration.
