Career
Trevor works with private equity investors and sponsors to provide cutting-edge solutions to ensure that each client fulfills their business goals.
Clients are looking for an attorney with intimate knowledge of the private equity market—one who can find innovative solutions in this ever-changing field. Trevor delivers this knowledge through his experience counseling institutional investor clients in negotiating their alternative investments through a variety of private funds and managed account platforms in both developed and emerging markets. This provides him with a broad view of the private equity market.
In addition to comingled funds, Trevor represents investor clients in connection with co-investments, joint ventures, and direct equity transactions. Additionally, he represents fund sponsors in the structuring and formation of various types of domestic and offshore investment funds. The scope of such investment funds includes private equity, real estate, hybrid, funds of funds, and other types of funds that use single vehicle, parallel, master-feeder, managed account platforms, and other structures.
In his practice, Trevor has worked with institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, state pension funds, universities, and family offices in the private equity space.
As a member of the Chickasaw Nation Bar Association, Trevor also has unique knowledge of both tribal and nontribal corporate and business matters. Through his work in Native American Affairs, he gained extensive experience in tribal and nontribal joint business ventures. Trevor served as a class counsel in both the Keepseagle and Black Farmers settlements with the United States Department of Agriculture.
When asked what he loves most about working at Seyfarth, Trevor said, “Brilliant and dedicated colleagues that work together to find solutions to client problems. The Seyfarth group is truly a team.” The support of his colleagues has helped Trevor build a stronger relationship with his clients, who know they can depend on him.

Institutional investors are key clients for Seyfarth Shaw LLP, with the firm acting for governmental pension plans, corporate and multi-employer plans, university endowments and family offices. The ‘deep, broad, and pragmatic‘ team is co-led by the ‘unflappable‘ Robert Bodansky in Washington DC and Atlanta-based tax and investment expert Steven Richman. In April 2022 the firm strengthened its client base of US retirement funds with the hire of Michael Jordan and Evan Sarosi to its Chicago office from Ice Miller, both praised by one client as ‘excellent at communicating with both the client and counterparty counsel‘. ‘Fast-paced and thorough‘ associate Trevor Tullius is a further name to note, supporting the partners from the Washington DC office.
