Career

Member of the firm since 2012. She is currently the Director of the Trusts and Estates and Family Law practice areas. Since she started at the firm, she provides legal advice to families, many of them with members in different jurisdictions, in the design and implementation of wealth planning structures both in Colombia and abroad.

She has advised family enterprises in defining and implementing corporate structures both in Colombia and in other countries. She has helped create corporate governance strategies that adjust to family interests and needs. She also has wide experience in guiding families in drafting and executing family protocols.

Her experience in family law focuses on planning the economic aspects of couple relationships (marriage and de facto marriage), and in designing estate structures including complex wills. This work has implied the preparation of prenuptial agreements for future spouses with the objective of defining the economic regime of the couple in order to mitigate the effects of the relationship’s breakdown. Moreover, this experience has also involved the liquidation of marital partnerships of married and de facto spouses as a mechanism of family planning and the representation of heirs and the surviving spouse in probate processes.
