Public procurement is a particular strength for the department, but the team is also seasoned in disputes involving the public administration at the judicial and administrative levels, such as class actions, administrative improbity and the economic rebalancing of public contracts. Department head Aurélio is recommended for his ‘ability to articulate effective strategies from the point of view of administrative law’; PPPs, bidding processes and administrative proceedings are among his areas of expertise. Tomás Schoeller Paiva, who joined from Mundie e Advogados in January 2022, is noted for his in-depth knowledge of telecoms regulations and infrastructure, while Renan Sona Silva, who will be welcomed to the partnership in January 2023, is seen with great regularity advising on the structuring of concession projects and PPPs.
