Career

Maria da Paz is a partner in BMA’s Corporate and M&A practice areas. She has vast experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and commercial and corpoorate law, particularly in transactions with ties to Latin America and Europe, in various sectors, such as services, the hospitality industry, and infrastructure.

Maria da Paz has extensive experience advising international clients in cross-border transactions in Latin America and Europe, involving both inbound and outbound M&A. She advises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, business restructurings, commercial contracts, debt restructurings and corporate disputes.

Before joining BMA, Maria da Paz worked in the New York and São Paulo offices of White & Case (2000-2003), and in the Lisbon and São Paulo offices of Cuatrecasas (2003-2018).

She is licensed to practice law in Brazil (OAB – SP) and Portugal (Ordem dos Advogados).
