Partner

Craig is a Partner in our award winning Corporate team who advises on the full spectrum of private company Corporate/M&A activity servicing a broad mix of owner managed businesses. Craig divides his time between advising clients in the West of Scotland and the Highlands and Islands, with time spent regularly in our Inverness and Lerwick offices.  Craig has developed a particular specialism in the veterinary sector.  Craig’s team have become recognised as a preferred adviser to the vendors of veterinary practices throughout the UK to a private equity backed veterinary practice consolidator based in the south west of England.  Craig’s team have completed over 20 sales to the consolidator in the last 3 years.

Craig is widely recognised as Scotland’s leading adviser on Business Improvement Districts in Scotland, having advised the initial pathfinder Business Improvement Districts following the introduction of the enabling legislation in 2006, developing the template operational and constitutional documentation that has been widely used by Business Improvement Districts across Scotland and having acted as the sole legal adviser to Improvement Districts Scotland Limited, the overarching national advisory body for Business Improvement Districts in Scotland.

As part of the firm’s market leading Sports law practice, Craig has also developed a niche in advising a number of Scottish sports governing bodies on constitutional matters, including attending their AGMs to provide procedural legal advice.

Craig is the co-ordinating tutor on the Company Law elective course which forms part of the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the Centre for Professional Legal Studies at the University of Strathclyde.

Former practice head David Kaye left for Spencer West in July 2023.
