Position

Nuno is a group partner in the dispute resolution team in Jersey.

He specialises in all aspects of commercial litigation, including trust cases, fraud and asset tracing claims and heavyweight commercial disputes. He has appeared in many substantial Jersey cases including acting as senior Jersey counsel for the first defendant in the Alhamrani trusts litigation, Jersey’s biggest ever litigation dispute.

He is a Crown advocate, which allows him to present cases on behalf of Her Majesty’s Attorney General. Door tenant at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square.

Called to the English Bar 1984; trained at Crills; Crill Canavan; qualified 1992; partner 1994; Crown advocate 1998 to date; relief magistrate 2008 to date.

Trust disputes make up the core of Collas Crill‘s litigation practice; the firm advises a raft of Jersey-based and international clients on long-running, multi-faceted disputes. The team is also well versed in commercial and insolvency disputes. Heading the team is Damian James, sought after for his expertise in contentious trust matters, where he frequently works alongside Dan Boxall. Nuno Santos-Costa represents financial institutions, governments and HNWIs in trust, contract and fraud cases, while Simon Hurry specialises in restructuring and insolvency litigation. Sam Williams assists clients with the enforcement of foreign judgements and arbitration decisions, in addition to trusts work. Lynne Calder, who was made of counsel in January 2022, handles civil and commercial regulatory matters.
