Career

Michael qualified as a solicitor in September 2018, after having trained at a multi-service national law firm, within their family team. Since then, he has represented a wide range of clients with regard to all areas of private family law. Prior to joining Hall Brown, Michael worked at a niche family law firm based in Cheshire, where he developed his skills particularly in relation to cases involving children.

Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Michael spent over 12 years working in the regulatory sector including investigation positions at the Legal Services Ombudsman, the Insolvency Service, and the General Medical Council, where he was an Assistant Registrar and coordinated their safeguarding functions.

Michael brings his wide-ranging depth of experience to his role as a family associate. He regularly advises clients on matters such as: child residence and contact disputes, including situations which involve an international element; domestic abuse issues involving non-molestation and/or occupation order applications; and complex cases where mental health and parental alienation issues are a factor.

As well as private children matters, Michael is also experienced in advising clients regarding matters of: separation and divorce; cohabitation rights; and the variation or setting aside of existing orders.

Michael recognises that clients requiring advice on family matters are invariably experiencing difficult and life changing issues. With that in mind, he prides himself on providing clients with a calm and pragmatic approach to resolving their problems.
