Career

Emma forms part of the children team in London, specialising in child arrangements disputes, domestic and international relocation, abduction, domestic violence, surrogacy, adoption and other atypical family scenarios. Emma has a particular interest in surrogacy which is a growing and complex area of law where it is vital for intended parents seek specialist legal advice as early as possible. Emma can assist at all stages of the process.

Emma also advises and represents clients on all aspects of divorce and dissolution, associated financial settlement and cohabitation disputes. Emma has experience with handling complex financial settlements involving international businesses and trusts, pensions and foreign property. She also has experience of drafting pre-nuptial agreements for engaged couples and separation agreements for separated couples.

Emma is committed to adopting an amicable and non-confrontational approach for her clients. She prides herself on being approachable whilst always trying to obtain the best possible results for her clients.

Emma has written for various legal journals, including the Resolution Review and the Family Law Journal. Outside of work Emma enjoys taking part in charity work, volunteering for Shelter UK and raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia UK. Emma is also passionate about dance and other performing arts, and enjoys travelling in her spare time.

For the last few years, Emma has sat on the JCI Manchester board as a Charity Director, where she has organised events and fundraising activities to support Anxiety UK and Invisible Manchester, a global social enterprise who trains people who have experienced homelessness to become tour guides of the city.
