Position

Gabriella is a Solicitor in our Family Law department, advising clients on all family law matters, including those relating to financial issues and child residence and contact issues from the breakdown of relationships. Regularly appearing in the Sheriff Court, she also has experience instructing and working alongside Counsel in the Court of Session. Gabriella has a particular interest in cases involving novel legal issues.

Gabriella is determined, pragmatic and thoughtful. She works closely with clients to understand their specific aims and individual circumstances to represent their interests.

Prior to joining Gibson Kerr in 2023, Gabriella completed a specialist Family Law traineeship at a niche Family Law practice in Scotland.

 

Career

Gabriella is a research assistant to the author of the 8th edition of Family Law in Scotland, a core textbook used by academics and professionals. Her work was published in the most recent edition and concerned actions in relation to parental responsibilities and rights and the nature of section 11 orders.

Gabriella has tutored Family Law at the University of Edinburgh for the past three years and continues to do so.

Memberships

Gabriella is a member of the Scottish Young Lawyers Association and the Young Mediators Group.

Education

Gabriella graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a First-Class degree in Law (with Honours) and a Distinction in the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. During this time, Gabriella was selected for the Freedom of Expression Legal Clinic and worked alongside practising advocates on international casework, including drafting submissions to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention for one year. She was also published in the Edinburgh Student Law Review for her work on the unique challenges to digital children’s rights in the 21st century.
