Career

Bálint is co-Head of Country of the Budapest office and Partner in our Dispute Resolution Group, he has extensive experience in litigation, arbitration and corporate matters.

With more than 20 years’ experience specialising in litigation and arbitration matters, as well as corporate and capital markets law, he offers our Hungarian and international clients in-depth expertise in complex commercial, securities and regulatory disputes, as well as in public takeover and insider trading issues.

Over the years, he has been involved in a large number of significant matters in our litigation and dispute resolution practices including major corporate, commercial and regulatory disputes, capital markets lawsuits, anti-takeover defences and energy law. He is often involved in international commercial and treaty arbitration cases.

As well as representing clients in commercial, real estate and product liability disputes, and white-collar investigations, the dispute resolution team at Siegler Bird & Bird Ügyvédi Iroda handles alternative dispute resolution proceedings and out-of-court settlements. With 25 years of experience, László Nanyista leads the practice. The team fields a wide scope of expertise: Bálint Halász has specialist IP knowledge; Viktor Kodela represents clients in administrative and corporate cases; and Karim Laribi focuses on employment litigation. The addition of Mihály Harcos, an experienced tax lawyer, from Deloitte Legal Göndöcz and Partners Law Firm in May 2022 strengthened the team’s capabilities in relation to tax disputes. Mátyás Schultheisz focuses on international arbitration.
