Career

I am a Counsel in our Corporate and Commercial Group in Singapore. I am involved in a wide range of corporate matters across various sectors, with a focus on corporate finance as well as mergers and acquisitions.

As a member of a dynamic and international corporate and commercial team, I have advised many private and listed companies in respect of their commercial transactions and fundraising exercises, both in Singapore and abroad. My experience in corporate finance ranges from advising both corporates and investors on early stage PE/VC investments to private placements, initial public offerings and secondary offerings. In addition, I also advise companies in both public and private mergers and acquisitions, including privatisation exercises.

I enjoy the unique challenges presented by each transaction we work on, and the satisfaction that comes with knowing that we have walked the journey with our clients. As such, I believe in the importance of going the extra mile to better understand each of my clients’ concerns, business and operations, in order to effectively work with them to come up with commercial and legal solutions that can achieve their objectives within the constraints presented. My experience at a Chinese investment bank has also given me a more holistic perspective of the various matters that can impact a transaction (including cultural and political issues), beyond the law and regulations.

Notwithstanding the demands and deadlines of transactional work, it remains important to me to make time to continually upgrade my skills by undertaking postgraduate and professional certification programmes, and to contribute to the community. I regularly volunteer at community legal clinics to provide free legal advice to individuals and also act as a mentor to aspiring law undergraduates in the local universities.
