Career

Kyle is a specialist employment and industrial relations lawyer with a decade’s experience.

Heading up ABLA’s workplace team in Newcastle, Kyle provides strategic advice to employers throughout the entire employment life-cycle, from recruitment right through to termination and beyond. He partners with HR managers to manage complex workplace issues, providing pragmatic and commercially-focussed advice so that businesses can mitigate their legal risks and make informed decisions.

Kyle assists clients in all areas of workplace law, with particular expertise in managing complex terminations, strategic enterprise bargaining, post-employment restraints and employment litigation.

His practice is a mix of advisory work and litigation. Where matters turn litigious, Kyle represents clients in a range of courts and tribunals and manages the conduct of those matters from commencement to final hearing. He has considerable experience representing clients before the Fair Work Commission, the NSW Industrial Relations Commission and the Federal Circuit Court in particular.

Kyle also regularly conducts workplace investigations for both private and public sector clients where the matter is particularly serious or complex and warrants an external investigation.

In 2018, Kyle was listed by Doyles Guide as a Rising Star in the field of Employment & WHS, recognising him as one of the leading young employment lawyers in Australia.
