Career

Nguyen is a key member of YKVN’s International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution practice.  He specializes in commercial dispute resolution, with a focus on construction and international trade.

In construction, Nguyen provides advisory work in FIDIC contract drafting and negotiation, as well as international arbitration work in various forums including ICC, SIAC, and VIAC.  A bulk of his work relates to infrastructure and commercial projects (highways, bridges, underground tunnels, subways, plants, apartment complexes, etc.), especially those involving foreign contractors or consultants.

In international trade, Nguyen focuses on contractual disputes involving agriculture products, grains & feeds, steel, and scrap metal.

In addition to his experience in the relevant fields, Nguyen’s dual-qualification to practice both US and Vietnamese laws gives him a unique ability to analyze from both common law and civil law perspectives. His finance and marketing background plus a Master’s degree in Business Administration is another reason why he is highly sought after for complex commercial matters.  In his spare time, Nguyen enjoys writing and giving presentations on international arbitration and construction claim management.
